What are Dental Veneers?

What Are Dental Veneers?
Veneers are custom made shells that are bonded to the teeth in order to improve both strength and appearance. They can help change the appearance of a single tooth or your whole mouth by hiding stains, changing shape or length of the tooth, or even minor alterations in tooth placement. They tend to be either porcelain and composite, are applied differently and made with different materials.

Composite Veneers

Composite veneers are created right in the dentist’s chair out of a dental composite resin that comes in a variety of tooth colors allowing near invisible reshaping and restoration. Your dentist will shape the veneer around your existing tooth and will harden it before you leave the office.

Porcelain Veneers

With Glendale porcelain veneers, an impression is taken of your teeth which is used in the creation of your veneers to ensure a perfect fit, feel, color, and shape. The veneer is then bonded to your tooth to provide a strong shield that hides your damaged or unsightly original tooth. Porcelain veneers are strong, stain-resistant, and can last for many years without chipping or needing extra maintenance beyond basic oral care such as brushing and flossing.
